About me:

I am a college student at California State University, Sacramento. I changed my major from Computer Science to Business Management Information Systems because I couldn't decide if I really wanted to be a programmer. Somtimes it's neat, but other times it's tedious and annoying. I really don't know what I want to do. Because I don't know what I want to do, and the fact that I'm told a BMIS degree can still land a technical job, it just seems like it's more flexible for my state of uncertainty.

Generally speaking, I hate school. I'm tired of it. But if nothing else, I can at least take pride that in my 4 years in college I've never gotten less than an A- in a class. I'm in my 9th semester (Fall 2006), and have senior status. So this should be my last year, provided I pass everything. I only have 5 classes left to do, but have to spread them over two semesters. They might be some of my hardest most time consuming classes to date anyway.... sooo looking forward to it.

Since I commute about 30 miles to school, I really don't have much opportunity to get involved on campus. After driving there in the morning and turning around and coming back to go to work, I have no desire to drive back to Sacramento to participate in an organization. Not to mention that traffic would be bad then too. I only have a few friends in the area, and only about 2 that I hang out with. Others moved away for college or other reasons. I'm sure my introverted personality doesn't help, but the commuting thing also makes it hard to make new friends. The majority of people on campus don't live around me. On that note, I am also single. Very...single....

I live in Rocklin, CA, just north of Sacramento. I've been working part-time at a traffic/civil engineering firm. I do all sorts of odd jobs; whatever need arises. But they let me take company cars on errands all the time and I don't have to deal with customers, so it's alright. I'm also now doing IT work for the company. This has confirmed that I don't want to do tech support as a career. I guess it's alright for now though. I like to view it as an internship of sorts because I'm getting 3 years and counting of experience in a business, while working with technology too.

I've lived in Rocklin since Christmas of 1999 (the middle of my sophomore year in HS), but I hail from Texas. DON'T MESS WITH TEXAS!! I lived in Keller, TX (in the Dallas/Fort Worth metroplex) for 8 years, and I was born in San Antonio (but didn't live there long). Can't break the Texas loyalty, I have the state flag up on my wall. I've been a Dallas Mavericks fan since I started getting into NBA games. Click for Mavericks website I like to watch games with friends, or just by myself if I'm bored. I've also been playing yahoo fantasy NBA. Other sports don't interest me. I don't play any sports anymore either, save for stand-around shooting bball occasionally.

I don't really have many hobbies, I'm too lazy. This site is one of the main things. It's completely done in notepad, hard core (with images I made in photoshop). As far as music goes, I like rock (a mix of classic and hard rock), Metallica being up at the top. I also like Disturbed, Rage Against the Machine, and others. I also like rap; I didn't used to, but when I got subwoofers in my car it helped increase my appreciation for a good beat. Snoop to the d-o double g! K to the Fizunk, fo' shizzle dizzle. When I'm not doing any school/work, I end up on my computer surfing and chatting, but I try to find ways to get out of the house. I like to eat out with friends when I can. On weekends, I can often be found at Denny's late at night. I'm also down for chillin and watching movies, provided they aren't awful (i.e. Labyrinth, The Mangler... hate you Alex and Ryan). I like comedies the most, whether they be action-comedies, intelligent comedies, so-stupid-it's-funny comedies, and yes I can admit it, on occasion, romantic comedies with happy endings. I never thought I'd like When Harry Met Sally, but when Jenny made me watch it with her and Katie, it had enough humor in it to keep me interested.

I also like to go play pool with people. I'm not usually very good, but I enjoy it nonetheless. A lot of the people I play with are usually around my level or below anyway so it's good times. The only good place around here to play is Hard Times on the edge of Sacramento. Bowling is fun too, but I usually like to do that with 3 or more people. 2 people only goes too quickly. Once again, I'm generally not that good at it, but once in a while I'll have a decent game. When I did bowling "class" and we did a league format, my average was around 115. I think my all time high is 174. Once in a blue moon I play mini-golf. Not because I don't enjoy it, but because it's hard to find a good crowd to play with. In my experience, too many people don't try to play it right; after the first couple holes they just screw around and take 20 shots without making an effort, and pick up the ball and move on without ever finishing. That's no fun in my opinion. I'll play foosball when I have the opportunity, but I usually lose. Air hockey is fun, and it's something I actually have a good chance of winning at.

It's becoming apparent that I suck at every video game ever made. Maybe because my parents never let me have a console aside from Gameboy; I just bought my first console, Xbox, fall '04. Even though I usually lose, I like to play with friends anyway and see what happens until I just get so frustrated with losing repeatedly that I get irritated. My friends Ryan and Alex like to play Smash Brothers. I don't know if they're just awesome at it or I'm just especially bad, but they make me look like a little kid trying to play against them. My goal is no longer to try to win, but just to get in their way as much as possible before I inevitably die long before them. I can also now add that Bryan and Janna make me look like a child trying to play Mario Kart.

I really enjoy stand up comedy. Back in high school I used to watch Comedy Central Presents every Friday, and I have a videotape full of them. I've also picked up some DVD's of some comedians. I like going to see stand up at a little club, but usually only go when it's a name I've heard before and I know is funny. The best person I've seen live is Nick Swardson. I went to San Francisco to see him, and then he was in Sacramento a couple years later and was just as funny. I've also seen Pablo Francisco twice, Mitch Hedburg, Lewis Black, Gabriel Iglesias and Dave Attell. I would like to see Dane Cook but haven't had the opportunity to yet.
